Renovationi guestrooms and lobby Hotel Landgoed Zonheuvel - Doorn Utrecht

Summer 2011 - We renewed all 110 rooms at Zonheuvel!

When we came with the idea to freshly renovate all the hotel rooms, we asked for help the architectural bureau  Rau, who are the best specialists in sustainable style and design.

Thomas Rau  as founder and directeur of "Rau bureau" is closely involved in all the compone`s projects. His design experience of almost 20 years allows him to determine his own vision and design approach:

"I think we are guests on this planet. We live seventy, eighty years, then it's over. The question is: how do we live this time? What responsibility? How we behave on this planet -Earth? For me it it is a real love and respect for all the alive on it. Therefore I am talking not about sustainability, but viability".

Moreover,  Zonheuvel was also inspired by Rau`s "out of the box" thinking vision...

With the modifications in the structure of existing hotel corridors, the room`s sizes became significantly larger then previously. Thanks to Rau`s project  the amount of guestrooms increased to 110 rooms instead of original idea of its reducing!

Besides Hotel Zonheuvel, Thomas Rau works on different projects. He also designed the new headquarter for the WWF (World Wide Fund for Nature) situated in Zeist, the Netherlands.
